Types of Woven Labels

Several types of threads used in clothing woven labels: Damask/Badge, Satin, and Taffeta. At Yellow Code Trims, we work with all these threads equally well. Therefore, whatever type of woven label you’re looking for, we got you covered.

Damask Woven Label

The two types Damask woven labels are 100 denier and 50 denier damask label (aka high-density woven label). Unless specified otherwise we use the thinner, higher quality 50 denier to get all the fine details in your design. The most common type of woven label is a damask woven label.

Satin Woven Label

Satin Labels have a smooth satiny sheen and comes in all color background. The satin weave is great for lingerie, infant apparel or vintage look.

Taffeta Woven Label

Taffeta labels use a thinner thread so a light color background will show the back threadings. These labels are best for old school or vintage look. It is the least softest of all woven labels so it is best to place on a location that doesn't directly touch the skin.

Yes, we can do this by double-weaving the part that needs to stand out. And if brightness is important to you, we recommend double weaving the lighter areas in the design. By double weaving, the lighter color has more surface coverage. You can also use lurex threads which give a sparkling effect to your label.

Start by looking at other garments and the folds/finishes you like in those. Next, talk to the person sewing them in. Different folds are priced differently to sew in, so there may be financial considerations to take into account.
